Peter August Böckstiegel museum

After school today we walked to the museum which was really a small but nice place and you could feel art there. The guides were really nice and wanted to give their best to present the expressionist painter of great importance to local people.

Als Maler, Bildhauer, Graphiker war er einer der bedeutensten westfälischen Expressionisten. Neben einer umfangreicher Sammlung eigener Kunstwerke hinterließ er der Nachwelt mit seinem Eltern- und Wohnhaus ein Künstlerhaus einmaliger Authentizität. 

 Durch Farbgebung, Schnitzereien, Mosaike und Glasfenster gestaltete Böckstiegel das Haus selbst zu einem Kunstwerk. Hier sind Gemälde, Zeichnungen, Aquarelle, Grafiken und Plastiken in aller Schaffensperioden des Künstlers zu sehen. Sie zeugen von der engen Verbundenheit Böckstiegels mit seiner westfälischen Heimat und den hier lebenden Menschen.

Maja ornament lähemalt. Sees me pildistada ei tohtinud. Suur pere elas siin, talupojad, elamiseks kaheksale inimesele ainult üks tuba ja köök. Poiss saadeti õpetaja soovitusel maalriks õppima, sest kunstiõppimisest ei teatud tolles talupojaperes midagi. Kui ringkäik läbi, oli köigil võimalus ise midagi sellest kohast joonistada või maali kopeerida. Ja nagu fotodel näha, kõik on tõsiselt tegevuses.

  In the picture on the right is Claudia, we teachers live in her house and in the middle is Ulrike, the great organiser of our visit to Germany.

 Besides just visiting the museum the students had the great opportunity to draw an expressionist picture themselves. They ought to copy something from the pictures or the house or anything there. Everybody was hard at work. 

Guess whose picture is this below. Of course Kadriäs, she painted Sonja, the daughter of the painter who in original picture was very sad but here she looks quite happy.
